ABOUT US

Dr. Lauren Reyes (previously Dr. Short) graduated from Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 and has been practicing mixed animal medicine in Las Cruces, NM since May of 2010. She opened Zia Mobile Vet in November 2020 with the help of her husband Pete Reyes and stepson Isaiah Reyes. Together, with the help of their amazing staff and clientele, they grew the practice from a pickup truck and single stainless steel bucket of medication to the thriving practice it is today. Dr. Reyes is experienced and knowledgeable in the fields of mixed animal general medicine and surgery, as well as emergency medicine. She has a love for veterinary dentistry and has obtained numerous hours of advanced training in this discipline. In her free time, Dr. Reyes spends time with her growing family on their small farm - they stay busy caring for their multiple dogs, tortoises, and goats!

One of the most important aspects of a successful veterinary clinic is the support staff. We have multiple long-term employees that have helped Zia Mobile Vet grow over the past couple of years. As you may notice, there are many familiar faces each time you visit us. Please be supportive and kind to our personnel as they give their hearts and souls every single day to help us function efficiently.
