One of the most important aspects of a successful veterinary clinic is the support staff. We have multiple long-term employees that have helped Zia Vet Clinic grow over the past couple of years. As you may notice, there are many familiar faces each time you visit us. Please be supportive and kind to our personnel as they give their hearts and souls every single day to help us function efficiently. Below are just a few of these special employees and their stories.
Gwyn was born and raised in the north valley of Las Cruces. Before joining Zia Vet Clinic in 2021, she worked as a senior field training officer for Dona Ana County's Animal control unit for 8 years. She has held multiple positions in various law fields prior to that, as well as being a horse trainer in our local area. Gwyn is the sole owner of a specialty sharpening shop based out of her home. In her spare time, it can be guaranteed she'll most likely be working on a project at the farm, out hiking with her wife and dog pack, or riding the horses.
Michelle has been working as a veterinary technician for over 20 years and truly loves all creatures, big and small. She is especially fond of Frenchies and chihuahuas, and is an avid pitty lover. Her and her husband have their own little farm family including four dogs, many goats, and numerous chickens that keep them very busy. Outside of work and the farm, she enjoys going to car shows, doing puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Kassy is a dedicated veterinary professional with a decade of experience in animal care. As a multi-certified technician, she specializes in high-stakes areas including surgery, ultrasound, and compassionate end-of-life care as a certified euthanasia technician. When she is not at the clinic, you can usually find her camping with her favorite pups (shoutout to the Hellers, Corgis, Labs, and Goldens!) or at home enjoying a movie night and charcuterie board with her family. She is a huge Pixar fan and a proud Dodgers fan - Go Blue!
